Vienna Arena Slackline Event

We have started organizing the first event of it's kind; a public, free slackline event to be held in the arena in Austria's capital city of Vienna. It will take place in June, with various attractions such as a girls only slackline competition which includes points towards the world ranking, slacklines for the public, an hourly highline demo by the three best female highliners in Europe, DJ's, and a kids slackline corner, all followed by a free live show and afterparty inside the arena. The following day will be spent highlining for everyone in Peilstein, the nearby spot with several established lines.

The Czech project

The Czech landscape is poetic, scenic and maybe tender. You can not find there neither high mountains with deep valleis nor sea coast with sharp cliffs. But still there are places look like to be created for highlining. These are sandstone areas full of towers with waried shapes. The rocks were made by water and wind from one platform so their height is similar (ideal for highlining).

Česká krajina je poetická, malebná a možná až něžná. Nenajdete v ní vysoké hory s hlubokými údolími ani mořské břehy s útesy. A přece jsou tu místa, která jsou doslova stvořena pro hajlajny. Jsou to pískovcová skalní města. Jsou plná věží, roztodivných tvarů, jak je tvarovala voda a hladil vítr. Všechny věže mají podobnou výšku, což je ideální napínání lajn.

We will rigg highlines in three beatifull spots. The first will be Drábské světničky in Český ráj = The Czech Heaven. We will estabilish there a new highline which will be short (cca 15m) but on nice place.

V českém projektu se podíváme do tří krásných oblastí. Začneme v Drábských světničkách, které leží v českém ráji. Zde natáhneme novou hajlajnu, která bude sice kratší, ale na hezkém místě a navíc docela exponovaná.

The second spot will be Adršpach on north west boarder. We will climb here with local climbers and rigg highline Maják Lighthouse. The line is long 35 m and any girl have not walk it yet.

Pak se přesuneme do Adršpachu, což je obrovské skalní město na severozápadní hranici. Zde si zalezeme s místními lezci a napneme hajlajnu Maják, která je dlouhá 35 metrů je krásně otevřená a žádná žena ji zatím nepřešla.

Our last destination will be Ostrov Island and it is really island of rocks, peace and days which stay in your heart. There took place Girl Ondly Highline and lot of other highline meetings. We would like to rigg there spaceline. Which is highline made from more lines in diferent directions. So you can walk directly in to space.

Náš český výlet ukončíme v Ostrově, kde již se konaly dva ročníky Girls Only Highline a nespočet hajlajn akcí, přesto je zde stále co objevovat. Rádi bychom natáhli spaceline, což je lajna vytvořená z několika lajn, tak, že když po ní kráčíte koukáte do čistého prostoru.

We hope that this all will realize in one june week. Maybe we will have to change our plans because it is forbiden to climb on soft sandstone after rain. But this project is unique and we want to enjoy atmosphere, nature and new experiences.

Toto vše se odehraje v jednom červnovém týdnu. Možná bude nutno program trochu přizpůsobit neb počasí v České republice není příliš stálé, a po dešti se na pískovcové skály nesmí lézt. Ale každopádně je to první projekt tohoto druhu. Chceme si užít spolupráci, přírodu a nevšední zážitky.

Welcome!

G4G Project is a collaboration between 4 slacklining and highlining females from 4 countries, who all share similar passions and hope to encourage and promote more women to participate in the sport of slackline and the lifestyle it entails. Our project is not meant so much as a separation between men and women, but more as a focus on females and their limitless possibilities, even in male dominated extreme sports such as slacklining and climbing. We hope this project will become a global movement connecting girls everywhere in the knowledge that they can do everything they want, and nothing should or can stop them. Keep in touch to see our projects form this year, starting with an exciting public slackline event in Vienna, Austria, moving on to highlines established in Czech Republic, and leading up to some epic stuff in France.

Faith began slacklining in a local park of Austin, Texas without dreams to ever walk a line in the sky or long distances over the ground. She started slackline like anyone would have, as a hobby. After traveling to Europe a year later and trying her first highlines and longlines, her hobby quickly turned into a passionate affair with balance. It became clear that slacklining was more than a sport, it was a lifestyle, and Faith found herself devoting her time to traveling in search of higher, longer and more exposed highlines. She unintentionally began leading females in the sport, quickly surpassing previous records and setting new ones frequently. Currently she ranks as the female world record holder in the longest highline at 81 meters (Bloody Red, Peilstein, Austria,) as well as highest female highline send of 1200 meters (Monchsbuffel, Switzerland) and the longest and most free solos and first ascents. In addition to highlining she holds the longest female send of a slackline at 222 meters. Her love of slackline stemmed from the deep connection to the earth one must have in order to spend so much time in nature, and the extreme affinity to ones body, fear and adrenaline needed in order to free solo highlines. Faith slacklines because she loves it and is addicted to it, simple as that is. Her current plans revolve around traveling to as many beautiful places as possible to walk more highlines, establish new lines and spread the love of slackline while also focusing on promoting women in the male-dominant lifestyle.

When not slacklining or traveling, Faith spends her free time doing art, editing videos, keeping up blogs and journals, playing ukulele and sewing.

Anča Kuchařová

Anča Kuchařová is a girl coming from Czech Republic, the heaven of sandstones. She always spent a lot of time in nature thanks her parents. In highschool she started with climbing, and in summer 2010 with slacklining and highlining. Now, she is one of the best female-highliners in the world. Actually she started in the sport because she fell in love with one highliner, than she fell in love with highlines..... She has walked more than 50 highlines. The longest one was 40m long, which is the European Female record. She has walked a 100 meter longline over the ground. Anča is also experienced in rigging because she participated in putting up a lot of new highlines.

What is a magic of highline? She said that she has never seen the world and herself so clearly as on a highline. For walking the lines she had to use everything that she learned in yoga and meditation. Highlining gets her deeper to pure living. Besides the sport of slackline, she has a bachelor of architecture and continues on with master studies. She is working for a company for almost two years now. She is focusing on eco houses made from clay, wood and straw. Anča also enjoys traveling, climbing, drawing, writing and working with photos. The mosaic of her life seems to her entertaining and fulfilling as it contains slackline, architecture, friends and nature.

Anča Kuchařová, je třiadvacetiletá Češka z Prahy. Díky své rodině trávila odmala spoustu času v přírodě. Na gymlu začala lézt a v létě 2010 se pustila do sackline a nedlouho na to do highline. Nyní je to třetí nejlepších hajlajnerka na světě. Původně začala s lajnama, protože se zamilovala do jednoho hajlajnera a nakonec se zamilovala i do hajlajn. Už jich přešla víc jak 50. Její nejdelší hajlajna měří 40m a je to současný evropský ženský rekord. Nad zemí ujde 100m.

Anča je také zkušená v natahování lajn, během posledního roku napnula s dalšími hajlajnery mnoho nových směrů. V čem ji hajlajny tak učarovaly? Prý nikdy neviděla svět ani sebe tak jasně, jak na hajlajně. Proto aby mohla chodit po lajnách, musela použít vše, co se naučila v józe a při meditaci. Chození hajlajn jí posouvá hlouběji k čistému prožitku. Krom toho studuje úspěšně Architekturu a stavitelství na ČVUT a téměř dva roky pracuje ve svém oboru. Nyní se soustředí na ekologickou architekturu používající hlínu, dřevo a slámu. A jinak tahle holka ráda cestuje, leze, maluje, píše a pracuje s fotkami. Mozajka jejího života jí připadá zábavná a naplňující, neodmyslitelně k ní patří lajny, architektura, přátelé a příroda.
